Jane handweaves her own material to make jewellery , cowls, bags, jackets, waistcoats etc
Jane Burchell
I first started to weave fairly recently about 4 years ago and about 2 years ago I moved down from Yorkshire to Moreton in Marsh. The weaving loom is a rigid heddle table loom originally used by my german grandmother and subsequently passed down to my mother and then to me.
After being in my loft for years I decided to master it and create items of clothing etc. I source some of my materials from charity shops etc.
The designs for my brooches are mainly abstract embellished with hand embroidery. I also make lined and unlined jackets and waistcoats which can be made to order.
